A Motion was moved by Councillors D Hayes and P Funnell That Council: a note the process and costs involved in the community consultation to conduct a Constitutional Referendum for a popularly elected Mayor b note the NSW Electoral Commission have been engaged to conduct the referendum in conjunction with the 2021 NSW Local Government Elections c approve the budget variation as noted in the financial implications section of this report. c approve Option One being the following referendum wording for the 2021 Local Government Election: Wagga Wagga City Council currently has nine Councillors with the Mayor elected by the Councillors every two years. Do you approve to change this to the voters of Wagga Wagga electing a Mayor for a four-year period?
