The meeting of the Traffic Committee commenced at 9:30am in the Alf Morris Room.

Recommendation

That Council approve the installation of regulatory traffic facilities on Byrnes Road, Bomen for Development Application Number 13/0219.02 as detailed on MJM Project Number 120341 Sheet C7 Issue E dated August 2022.

Recommendation

That the Local Traffic Committee endorse the proposal to install signs and road markings on Mortimer Place and Chaston Street, as detailed on Council Plan Registration Number C2164 Sheet Number 003 Issue 3 dated 24 August 2022.

RP-3          Old Narrandera Road/Pine Gully road - Traffic facilities for intersection upgrade

 

Recommendation

That the Local Traffic Committee endorse the proposal to install signs, road markings and traffic management facilities on Old Narrandera Road and Pine Gully Road as detailed on Council Plan Registration Number C2078 Sheet Number 15-16 Issue 4 dated 13 January 2022.

RP-4          College Avenue and Charleville Road - Roundabout signage and linemarking

 

Recommendation

That Council approve the installation of regulatory signs and road markings for a new roundabout at the intersection of College Avenue and Charleville Road, as per Croft Developments Drawing No: T-1900-24B dated 12 July 2020.

 

Comment on Committee consideration

·         This matter was presented to Local Traffic Committee but was not voted upon pending further information to be provided

 

·         The Committee requested information regarding the capability of a 14.5m bus to negotiate the roundabout by providing a swept path analysis. College Avenue is a school bus and commuter bus route

 

RP-5          Wentworth Street - NO PARKING - driveway access

 

Recommendation

That Council install a length of NO PARKING zone, five metres either side of the driveway situated a 1 Wentworth Street, East Wagga utilising R540 series signs as depicted in the diagram.

That Council install 20 meters of BUS ZONE using R5-20 signs on the eastern side of Boorooma Street just north of Messenger Avenue.

Recommendation

That Traffic Committee endorse the installation of refuge islands and regulatory devices associated with the Active Travel Project as per the attached plan diagrams C2116 issue C, sheet 3 and C2120 issue A, sheet 8.

That Traffic Committee endorse the installation of a length of NO STOPPING and other prescribed traffic control devices on Hammond Avenue in compliance with the determination of development consent for DA 22/0121 and as per the attached plan.

QWN-1 – Councillor Hayes requested to investigate crossing and intersection issues at the Leavenworth Drive and Northcott Parade intersection particularly around school times.
