That the Minutes of the proceedings of the Floodplain Risk Management Advisory Committee Meeting held on 15 December 2022 be confirmed as a true and accurate record noting that the recommendations contained in the minutes of that meeting are being considered by Council at its Ordinary Meeting on 30 January 2023.

Declarations Of Interest

Mr T Kurylowicz declared a general interest that he is a resident of North Wagga, however as a community representative he is representing the whole community.

 

Mr T Kurylowicz declared a Pecuniary Interest in RP-1 Project Update 2023 and RP-3 Feasibility Study for flood mitigation options for North Wagga and surrounding floodplain areas presentation, specific to North Wagga options of potential house raising and/or purchase, as he lives in the affected area.

a       North Wagga Flood Mitigation Options recommencement of original study

b       Implementation Status Paper from staff regarding the remaining projects and recommendations

RP-2          Funding options for Levee Maintenance

 

Recommendation:

                        On the Motion of Councillor R Kendall and P Murray

That the Floodplain Risk Management Advisory Committee recommend that  Council:

a          implement an annual budget line item for specific levee maintenance projects to the value of $50,000 pa

b          make a submission to the NSW Reconstruction Authority for funding of immediate and ongoing maintenance of flood prevention infrastructure

c          prepare a motion to the next NSW Local Government and Australian Local Government Conferences asking both State and Federal Governments to provide funding for the ongoing maintenance of flood prevention infrastructure
