The meeting of the Floodplain Risk Management Advisory Committee commenced at 8.32am.

Acknowledgement Of Country

Wagga Wagga City Council acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land, the Wiradjuri people, and pays respect to Elders past, present and future and extends our respect to all First Nations Peoples in Wagga Wagga.

That the Minutes of the proceedings of the Floodplain Risk Management Advisory Committee Meeting held on 2 February 2023 be confirmed as a true and accurate record noting that the recommendations contained in the minutes of that meeting are being considered by Council at its Ordinary Meeting on 30 January 2023.

RP-1          PROJECT UPDATE 2022

 

Recommendation:

That the Floodplain Risk Management Advisory Committee review and accept the following report on project status from staff including:

a       Implementation Status Paper from staff regarding the remaining projects and recommendations

b       Reconnecting River Country Flood Data

c       DPE 2023-24 Floodplain Management Program noting the closing date of 17 April 2023

d       Apply for a grant to incorporate DPE Reconnecting River Country data  into our existing flood model (option 11 EWS project)

Andrew Morris, Senior Civil & Water Resource Engineer from Royal Haskonning DHV, entered the meeting the time being 9.05am. Andrew presented an introductory presentation about the Uranquinty Levee Upgrade – Investigation and Design project, for which they are the engaged by Council to undertake.

 

Andrew Morris vacated the meeting the time being 9.20am.

 

Brian Mahony vacated the meeting the time being 9.24am.
