NOTICE TO MEETING

In addition to webcasting council meetings, audio recordings of confidential sessions of Ordinary Meetings of Council are also recorded, but do not form part of the webcast.

 

 

Acknowledgement Of Country

Wagga Wagga City Council acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land, the Wiradjuri people, and pays respect to Elders past, present and future and extends our respect to all First Nations Peoples in Wagga Wagga.

 

We recognise and respect their cultural heritage, beliefs and continuing connection with the land and rivers. We also recognise the resilience, strength and pride of the Wiradjuri and First Nations communities.

Councillor A Parkins declared a Non-Significant Non-Pecuniary Interest in RP-7 Annual Grants Program 2023/24 - Arts, Culture & Creative Industries the reason being that she is on the Board of Directors for the Riverina Conservatorium of Music who have applied for a grant under this category and vacated the chamber during its consideration.

 

Councillor T Koschel declared a Non-Significant Non-Pecuniary Interest in RP-3 2023/24 BUDGET VARIATIONS AND 30 JUNE 2023 INVESTMENT REPORT the reason being that his workplace is listed within the report and remained in the chamber during its consideration.

 

The Mayor Councillor D Tout declared a Significant Non-Pecuniary Interest in RP-2 REQUESTS FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE - SECTION 356 the reason being that he is a Director of Carevan, who are listed as an applicant within the report and vacated the chamber during its consideration.

 

The Mayor Councillor D Tout a Significant Non-Pecuniary Interest in RP-4 Annual Grants Program 2023/24 - Community Programs & Projects the reason being he is a Director of Carevan, who are listed as an applicant within the report and vacated the chamber during its consideration.

 

The Mayor Councillor D Tout declared a Significant Non-Pecuniary Interest in RP-14 APPLICATIONS FOR SUBSIDY FOR WASTE DISPOSAL FOR CHARITY ORGANISATIONS the reason being that he is a Director of Carevan, who are listed as an applicant within the report and vacated the chamber during its consideration.

 

Councillor R Kendall declared a Significant Non-Pecuniary Interest in RP-7 Annual Grants Program 2023/24 - Arts, Culture & Creative Industries the reason being that he is a Director of an organisation that applied for a grant listed within the report and vacated the chamber during its consideration.

 

Councillor R Kendall declared a Non-Significant Non-Pecuniary Interest in RP-9 ANNUAL GRANTS PROGRAM 2023/24 - EVENTS the reason being that he is a member of one of the organisations listed within the report and remained in the chamber during its consideration.

A Motion was moved by Councillors R Foley and R Kendall  

That Council:

a       endorse the Draft Community Net Zero Emission (NZE) 2050 Roadmap to be placed on public exhibition for a period of 42 days from 21 July 2023 and invite public submissions until 31 August 2023

b       require that the communication of the Draft NZE 2050 Roadmap clearly articulates that neither the consultation nor the final document can be used to underpin or support any future fee, charge or other cost or any regulatory provision

c        receive a further report summarising feedback and submissions

 

An AMENDMENT was moved by Councillor J McKinnon and seconded by Councillor G Davies

 

That Council:

a       endorse the Draft Community Net Zero Emission (NZE) 2050 Roadmap to be placed on public exhibition for a period of 42 days from 21 July 2023 and invite public submissions until 31 August 2023
